Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Stacking happens entirely on your own computer. Your image files never leave it.
Which files can I stack?
16-bit FITS light frames, all the same size, from the same camera and settings. Colour-camera (Bayer) FITS files work too. If your camera saves RAW files such as CR2 or ARW, convert them to FITS first. Put all the frames of one target in one folder.
Windows says 'Windows protected your PC'. Is that safe?
StackFast is new and not yet widely downloaded, so Windows SmartScreen shows this warning for any program it has not seen often. Click 'More info', then 'Run anyway'. We are working on getting the program signed so the warning goes away.
I forgot my password.
On the sign-in screen choose 'Forgot password? Email me a code'. A 6-digit code is sent to your email and signs you in. If nothing arrives, check spam, or write to proxylabsmail@gmail.com.
The result looks different from my other software.
StackFast removes satellite trails, hot pixels and cosmic rays and then averages the frames, much like other stackers. The 'Outlier rejection' slider controls how strictly odd pixels are thrown out. Higher keeps more of them, lower removes more. Stretch your result in your usual editing software.
Stacking seems slow or the window is not responding.
Very large sessions need a few seconds per gigabyte of data. Leave 'Use graphics card' off unless you have a fast dedicated card. If it still seems wrong, send us a bug report from the app.
Does it handle a meridian flip?
Yes, frames taken after a flip are turned back automatically. Fields that slowly rotate through the night (some alt-azimuth mounts) are not supported yet.
How do I report a bug or suggest something?
In the app choose 'Send feedback', or email proxylabsmail@gmail.com. If the app ever crashes it will offer to send a crash report; you decide whether to send it.
How do I delete my account and data?
In the app open the Account menu and choose 'Delete my account'. Everything tied to the account is removed immediately. You can also email us and we will do it.
What does it cost?
